Dedication and Resistance

Dedication and Resistance

The forces of these two poles define the exhibitions at ARTBASE. Until May 31, 2024, the expansive building hosts two parallel solo exhibitions: “into the blue” by JULIA SOSSINKA (Berlin) and “Impulse” by MAX MALLENDER (Liverpool).

The paintings and object art by JULIA SOSSINKA are in no way inferior in suggestive power and archaic monumentality to the works of Markus Lüpertz, whose master student she is. She plays with the performative and sculptural potential of art, translating the power and wildness of nature into the language of abstraction in her own unique way.

MAX MALLENDER’s painting style is impetuous, spontaneous, mostly large-scale, and deliberately imperfect. His works breathe serenity and generosity.

From July 5 to September 14, 2024, a newcomer to ultra-contemporary art takes center stage: EMANUELE TOZZOLI. The works of the young artist from Turin incorporate aspects of the wild, sacred, spiritual, and ancient.

ARTBASE will showcase a selection of his sculptures, paintings, and, for the first time, a selection of his drawings.

In dialogue with these, objects and drawings by the well-known Prague sculptor VOJTĚCH MÍČA will be displayed.

From April 25 to 28, 2024, ARTBASE will be part of the Berlin Art Fair www.paperpositions.com.

Upon registration by email or phone, ARTBASE is open: Monday to Saturday from 11 AM to 7 PM.
