Vojtěch Míča‘s objects are massive and transcendent at the same time.

Complex and detailed phenomena and contexts he translates into simple, almost archaic forms.

In his objects you find elements from a classical aesthetic with reminiscences from ordinary and everyday contexts.

He masterfully employs all techniques of his craft:

he works with granite, sandstone and marble as well as wood, synthetic resins and 3D printing, and creates wonderful bronze sculptures.

But his favourite thing to work with is concrete.

Concrete is omnipresent in our time.

It is strong, reliable and resistant.

Concrete may not be beautiful in the classical sense at first glance, but under the hand of Vojtěch Míča the rough material becomes a matrix for subtle, tender and sensitive thoughts.

A thought among, which is more of a feeling, might be, as the artist puts it: “(…)Is there not concealed behind all this diurnal mull of our live’s, the tedium, behind that which we do not yet know, behind that which is not known to us, behind that which we will never know, a lucid, simple, pure order?“
