EVELINE BERGMAN’s art describes a deep immersion with a landscape, the sky, animals and human beings. Individual contours break up. Instead, lines becomes visible that seem to follow an unifying, common rhythm.
She describes this moment as synonymous with beauty, freedom and infinity. For it appears to her as a moment of detachment from the self and merging with the other.
To bring this experiences to the canvas, she developed her own technique:
A dancing like brushstroke and a preparation of color pigments derived from fresco painting to achieve a special flowing color gradient.
“The works of Eveline Bergman vibrate with dynamism and liveliness. Her art of painting has something deeply musical. The powerful stroke in her pictures seems to have sprung from the dance.” (Sasha Waltz – Choreographer, Dancer, Artistic Director Berlin State Ballet)
